Research Topic
My work focuses on the germination dynamics of Myxococcus xanthus in varying nutrient conditions and upon different interesting prey bacteria, and investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying this process. This could potentially help uncover the abiotic and biotic determinants of spore germination, getting us further on the journey to understanding this fascinating microbe's ecology.
Education
Integrated MSc. in Biological Sciences from BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus.
Research Experience
MSc. thesis: Institute of Microbiology, ETH Zürich

Bio
I'm Antara, from the state with the better dosai-sambar (Tamil Nadu). I recently graduated, find way too many areas of biology interesting, and I'm now working in microbiology in my quest to widen my skill-set and someday find out what I'd like to specialise in. Though classically trained, I'm now primarily a rock and prog vocalist (although I dabble in most genres) who enjoys improvisation and is always on the hunt for interesting new music. I also enjoy the literary pursuits of poetry writing and parliamentary debate.
